Healthcare
Background History
INTEGRIS Canadian Valley Regional Hospital opened as a general acute care facility on November 9, 2001. The hospital had been in the planning stages for many years and opened to the wide support of the surrounding communities of Canadian County - one of the fasted growing areas of Oklahoma. The community of Yukon itself was the only community of its size that could not claim hospital ownership or having been served by its own local community hospital. This $35 million dollar project for INTEGRIS Health is considered to be one of the most “state-of-the-art” health care facilities in the state of Oklahoma.
Hospital & Healthcare Services
INTEGRIS Canadian Valley Regional Hospital offers the most advanced technology, highly skilled physicians and a complete staff of experienced healthcare professionals.
The facility consists of approximately 132,000 square feet and includes 30 private inpatient medical surgical rooms, a 10-bed Women’s Unit, and a 4-bed Intensive Care Unit that opened in May of 2005. Funding for the ICU addition was provided through Federal Appropriation dollars secured by Congressman Frank Lucas and Senator James Inhoff and through contributions made to the hospital foundation.
Additional services offered at INTEGRIS Canadian Valley include:
- 24-hour Emergency Room
- Ambulatory Care Center
- Physical Therapy
- Radiology Services
- Respiratory Therapy
- Specialty Care Clinic
- Special Procedures
- Surgical Services
Radiology services provided at
the hospital include mammography, fluoroscopy, x-ray, CT scan, ultrasound, MRI,
bone density, and nuclear medicine. The
surgical services department consists of three general surgical suites, a dedicated
c-section operating room, an endoscopy area and an 8-bed outpatient procedure
unit. General laboratory services are
available along with cardiopulmonary capabilities and a Physical Therapy
department that offers inpatient, outpatient, and aquatic therapy services.
The hospital currently owns and
operates seven specialty service clinics in and around the Yukon community:
- INTEGRIS Adult & Internal Medicine Specialists
- INTEGRIS Canadian Valley Orthopedics
- INTEGRIS Canadian Valley Specialty Clinic
- INTEGRIS Canadian Valley Surgical Associates
- INTEGRIS Family Care Mustang
- INTEGRIS Pediatric Associates of Yukon
- INTEGRIS Canadian Valley Obstetric & Gynecologic Services
Growth and Expansion
Since opening in 2001, the community’s
acceptance of the hospital was immediate and is responsible for its
overwhelming success. The Emergency Department is the one area that has
exceeded all projections in its usage and continues to be a solid area of
growth. This is largely due to the hospital’s proximity to I-40, the
overextended usage of emergency services in Oklahoma City
hospitals and because Canadian
County residents want to
be treated close to home.
As we strive to meet the
increasing demand of healthcare services for the residents of western Oklahoma, INTEGRIS
Canadian Valley
is currently underway with a $27 million dollar expansion project that will add
42,000 square feet of new patient care space.
This expansion project will bring an additional 4-bed Intensive Care
Unit and a new 18-bed Emergency Room that is expected to open December 2009. The completion of a third floor 30-bed
inpatient unit is expected March of 2010.
The future for INTEGRIS Canadian Valley Regional Hospital remains positive and strong. The hospital continues to see an annual increase in patient volume in all areas, primarily emergency room services and births. The commitment and support from the residents of Canadian County and western Oklahoma is the driving force behind our mission: “To improve the health of the people and communities that we serve.”
