The Mabel C. Fry Public Library is located at 1200 Lakeshore Drive, the southwest corner of Mustang Road and Highway 66. This restored grocery store building is an open and inviting facility offering materials to loan and free programs and services for Canadian County residents of all ages.
The library offers public access computers with internet access, free wireless internet connection and word processing computers. In order to use the public access computers, patrons need to bring proof of Canadian County residence and proof they are 18 years of age.
In order for patrons under age 18 to use public access computers, a parent or legal guardian must sign an internet usage agreement for the minor.
Library cards are available at no charge to all Canadian County residents. Patrons just need to bring in proof of residence and a family card will be issued. Fiction and nonfiction collections are available for patrons of all ages. The library also has large-print materials and offers a wide range of magazines and newspapers, audio and video materials and Spanish language materials. For patrons unable to come into the Library, homebound book delivery is offered.
Programs are readily available for patrons of all ages. For patrons under age three, the library offers a weekly lap time program. Children ages three to five can come to a weekly preschool story time program. Programs, including an annual summer reading program, are available for youth up to age 18. The library also offers programs for adults and hopes to begin a summer reading program for them in the summer of 2010.The library staff is ready and willing to serve the citizens of Yukon.
